FHL General Information

The Ford Hockey League (FHL) is a member of the Ford Employee Recreation Association.

The Club's primary activity is the Ford Hockey League which is an organized adult ice hockey league which plays at the Garden City Ice Arena (200 S Log Cabin Rd, Garden City, MI 48135). The league plays at 5:00PM, 6:00PM & 7:00PM on Mondays, 6:00PM, & 7:00PM on Wednesdays and 6:00PM & 7:00PM on Thursdays, from late-August thru March.

The league plays the no-check format but slapshots are allowed. The referees are sanctioned by the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA).

New teams are re-selected each year by a draft. There are currently 14 teams in the league. Each team consists of 10 players and 1 goalie. The league has a 23 game regular season (one game per week) with playoffs following. The total cost for the league for 2016-2017 was about $435 which included jerseys, socks, playoff champion trophies and some supplies (pucks/puck bags) for each team. Players are also required to obtain MAHA/USA Hockey Registration which is about $45 per season. Goalies are required to pay $200 plus MAHA/USA Hockey Registration fees.

Registration for each season begins in July. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the league only a few players are added to the league from the waiting list to fill open spots. If you are NOT on the waiting list, and would like to be, please enter your information into our Join League page.
